Band 2 - Ellenor Wykcs

This has been a busy week and I have been wearing my Nana hat again so stitching time has been reduced. I did manage to acheive my goals of Band 2 on Ellenor and Band 3 on EK.

These bands are very similiar.

I was wondering if there are any facsimiles available to view online of the pattern books stitchers used to create some of the orginal samplers?

I am so impressed Nicola with the speed you stitch at. These samplers are beautiful.

The colours in Ellenor are gorgeous and I love EK. I got the chance to see The original EK in the flesh at the fitzwilliam museum. My husband has the photos on his phone so need to work out how to get them posted. It is as stunning in real life as your version is.

There are quite a few good resources online :) The Antique Pattern Library is an amazing source of free vintage pattern books, not only for cross-stitch and embroidery, but also for knitting, crocheting, dressmaking, etc. http://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/ The APL also has a Yahoo group.

The charts at this site have many French sources and others too:

And here's another site with some Sibmacher pattern resources in her links: http://flowersoftheneedle.com/ Not sure if that's quite what you're looking for, but they might be a start.
