I love doing Jessica stitches -- they look awesome. I dislike making French knots - ugh!

I enjoy rice stitch and dread French Knots.

Eyelet stitches are great fun to do. I dread the Montenegrin stitch. Have yet to learn how to do it.

I love stem stitch as a filler. The light catches it at different angles which creates depth.

Another pretty sampler Nicola! I enjoy Rice and Eyelet stitches...also like the long-arm cross. Not so fond of Queen stitches...can do them, just don't like them much.

I like almost every stitch--eventually. I can't think of one I despise, which may be why I can't go a day without stitching!

My favorite is rice stitch - I love the texture. I don't particularly like eyelet stitches, not sure why, they just don't do anything for me. Though you didn't ask, I cannot do French knots - they just don't work for me, always substitute colonial knots.

Oooh! She's a pretty one! I would love to be entered in the draw. Hmm, stitches I dread. Well I haven't done a whole lot of different stitches, but perhaps the satin stitch on linen is the hardest for me. I find it hard to make curves on linen and make the satin stitches lie straight. I prefer satin stitching on embroidery cloth with a drawn on pattern.

Oh, I so Dred: Montenegrin Stitch.

I like the Queen Stitch as it gives a project a lot of texture and color.

I don't mind doing Queen Stitch and I like doing stem stitch as a fill in. I guess if I had to pick a stitch that I didn't like it would also be Montenegrin Stitch. Mainly because I haven't done much.

What a pretty little sampler! I love the texture specialty stitches give a project. Cut work now, that gives me chills

I love Montenegrin but am very wary of any surface stitches such as stem stitch or long and short shading.

Comment for Wilma - I love stitching eyelets, jessicastitches and satin stitches. I dread montenegrin stitches have yet to learn to stitch them properly.

I love all of them! except for bullion knots, really can't get the hang of those!

I enjoy stitching Bargello because I like the effect but I really don't like lazy daisies, I just can't get the little loops even or even very loopy sometimes!

I love this marking sampler it seems the right size to get finished! I like doing eyelet stitches you can plan a path going out and then get to see the wonderful effect of the open eyes on the trip back. I would say my least favorite would be queens stitch only because each stitch requires many passes of the needle and mine tend to be lopsided (I may need more practice!)

A comment for Barbara G -

When stitches become tedious I dislike them, e.g. cross but Montenegrin always keeps me awake!

I love rice and queen, dread Italian cross. If I get to a section on a sampler that has Italian cross, the project will just languish, until I eventually decide to substitute regular cross

I find that I actually like eyelet stitches and really do not like doing french nots. :)

Still kind of new at this, so I have not tried a lot of those stitches mentioned by others. I have learned that cross stitching over one can be a challenge. I would like, and eventually will, do some of the others.

I love doing the rice stitch, it gives so much texture. I do not like freehand stitches such as stem stitch.

I like most stitches as long as I can see them...I dislike stitching any stitch with thread the same colour as my fabric...

Debbie Bauer said...

Love the colors! Being new to cross stitch I haven't had a lot of experience with a variety of stitches. I always need to refer to and keep diagrams and instructions close by.

I love eyelet stitches.... Among so many, that one is my favorite~~ Ty Ty!

I love smyrna cross or eyelets. I don't think I like the queen stitch.

I like herringbone stitches and combinations like criss cross herringbone. After doing what seemed like millions of them, I have come to despise french knots.
