Sauerbraten, Raclette or Turkey for christmas...
meat fondue, raclette with cheese fondue for New Year's
... depends on the crowd - if there are dietary constraints / vegetarians ...
any food shared with a crowd is fun anyway!

We usually have cold things. Ham, Turkey and Roast Pork cooked the previous day and lots of salads. We also have Boiled Plum Pudding with Custard.

I always want a Smithfield Ham. (It is a brand name of ham.) However, I am having a hard time finding that brand this year so I had to buy a different kind that I've had before.

I love that sampler too!!! It is just beautiful!!!

Comment for Barbara G - I would say that turkey is the tradition in my family although we have also done goose and lamb.

Lovely sampler! Last ten years we visit my husbands parents on Christmas day. The main dish always stays the same - a lobster. It seems to be quite common choice here in Belgium.

Varies year to year--I think it will be ham this year or maybe pork loin

Another great sampler, love the deer on this one. We usually have turkey or ham, also do some kind egg casserole and sweet rolls for breakfast.

Please enter my name in drawing. For Christmas dinner we usually have roast pork, but growing up we always had a ham cooked by my grandmother and lasagna made by my aunt. I truly miss our large family gatherings - so sad that so many people are now gone.

We generally have the traditional turkey plus a ham for my father, who won't eat turkey!

Another great sampler (aren't they all??)!! I used to cook lamb or a ham for Christmas, but over the last decade, I've convinced my husband to grill steaks (even if it is snowing!!).

Turkey and Ham are the choices we usually have for Christmas. But I have cooked a duck and goose - my grandmother always did. And of course cabbage rolls are always on the menu!

I make a couple chicken roasters, stuffing/dressing. Corn Pudding casserole. Steam broccolli and cauliflower. Toss Salad. Slices of fresh fruit. Sometimes double baked potato. Usually leave the desserts to daughter or Mother-in-law.

Sometimes we have shrimp for appetizers or cheese-n-crackers

In my family of origin we would usually have a spectacular roast beef. In my current relationship we have made a tradition of having chicken and beef yakatori.
