The Tableau

I have had a good week stitching and I feel if progress has been made. The grass is endless and then there is the sky in fill to go too !!! Just as well my stitching mojo is back. Hopefully a finish to not too far off.

I have started to refer to the sampler as The Tableau rather than The Tablet/Shepherd and Shepherdess remix.

There are so many wonderful samplers being stitched it makes it so hard to choose the next project.

How beautiful, Nicola! I can't read what your verse says. Will you share it with us?

I can't believe how much you have accomplished this week. You must sit for long periods of time and you have a little fairy that stitches while your away...... I wish I had one...

Oh Nicola your "Tableau" is absolutely beautiful! The floral border, the lovely pictorial, the touching verse ... this will definitely become a cherished heirloom.

Your work is spectacular, Nicola. I decided to reproduce this sampler when I was raising Jacob sheep, a rare and endangered breed. I forgot where I found the original sampler but when I saw the spotted, horned sheep, I knew I had to have it, to promote the breed and to reproduce the unusual design. I have just one Jacob sheep left after 25 years of breeding. Her name is Squitchey, she's 17 years old and not long for this world. Hail to the Jacob sheep, a magnificent breed.

A link in the Attic Needlework newslsetter lead me to your blog. The combination of the two samplers is genius! I was able to read the verse by enlarging the newsletter - it's really beautiful and very touching. I have truly enjoyed my visit here this morning. Thank you for your shares!
