A Winner and a new Giveaway

CONGRATULATIONS to Debby of Stitchergal on being the name drawn for the 13 piece project pack from Lakeside Linens. Please can I have your postal address. A BIG THANK YOU to Karla of Patchwork Rabbit for her sponsorship.

UK stitchers please remember that Karla is now a stockist of SL charts and will order in charts and kits for you.

Now that Autumn is here (for me) it is time to settle down for some serious stitching and my thoughts have been turning to my next project. It occurred to me that it is some time since I stitched a sampler with a house in it which is quite odd when you think how many feature houses.

Marsha has published a fascinating book

" Historical Patterns For Counted Thread Embroidery" - Architecture from early Samplers.

This is a must have for my book shelf.

I have a copy courtesy of Marsha for one lucky winner. To enter please leave a comment naming the sampler with a favourite house in it. It doesn't have to be one you have stitched or intend to just the one that calls to you the loudest.

Good luck.

I like the red house on The Sampler. It is gorgeous and I love the stitched saying. So true!

For me it is the Betsy Davis that
"lived" with me so long as I stitched (and finished) her. A joy
to embroider.

Um. Well, for Scarlet Letter, there's Margaret Logan, and Rebecca Robinson off the top of my head. I know there's more. For others, I just fell in love with Elizabeth Lamb. I forget the designer. Of course. But I have the chart on order. :D

Elizabeth Sheffield's darling yellow house!

I love, and have the chart for Mary Ann Michell. It amazes me that she was only 10 years old when she stitched it, and it also has a house.

Definitely Ann Wallace. It looks more like a castle than a house but I have lofty ambitions! Lol.

I love the house in the "Red House" Sampler. I love the simplicity of the sampler so that the focus is on the detail of the house. On my wish list
