What better way to start a new week than with a Giveaway, right? Nicola has graciously allowed me to make a post about a giveaway that I'd like to do on this blog.
This month is my birthday month. Now, I'm not going to reveal how old I'm going to be - let's just say that, as my children say, I'm older than dirt. Like I remember black and white TV, records instead of CD's, the Beatles hitting the US and there wasn't even a cell phone. How did I get along? LOL So that's getting up there. But as I approach my next birthday and my kids ask me what I want - I say nothing. I have a great life, wonderful husband, fantastic kids, wonderful friends - both in my actual life and in Blogland and enough stash to last me three life times (okay maybe four or five - yikes!). I truly could ask for nothing more!! But the stash - well, therein lies the problem. I'll never get through all of these things I've accumulated and as with what happens to a lot of us, my tastes have changed over the years. Besides being a stitcher for a long time, I'm also a quilter, so the stash accumulates. In going through my stash looking for something a couple weeks ago, I decided that I'm surely not going to get through everything that I have. Like did I mention that I have 75+ Scarlett Letter chart and kits? Probably not, but that's a lot. And I keep accumulating them. Shame on me! But I realize that my tastes have changed over the years and I'd love to give some things away to people who would love to stitch them or add them to their own stash. Us stitchers can never have enough stash, right? So instead of getting presents for my birthday, I would love to give them away. It's always better to give than receive, isn't it? So the two Scarlett Letter kits I'd love to give away are:
The Dora Sanger Sampler - and look - the price tag is still attached!!! The kit includes the chart, linen and DMC threads. Sorry they're not silk, but I bought this kit before silks became fashionable I think.
The next kit is:
Grace Caitlin's Sampler of 1719 - a beautiful band sampler. The kit also includes the chart, linen and DMC threads.
If you would like a chance to win one of these, just leave a comment with your choice. You can even say that you'd like a chance for both of them - that's okay - and your name will be entered for a chance at both of them.
Both kits are unopened and from a smoke-free home. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post as to which kit(s) you would like. If you'd like a chance at both, I'll enter you in for both. The only stipulation is that you are a member of either the Scarlet Letter Blog 1 or 2.
I'll pick two names on Monday, May 20th!! Good luck!! And hope that everyone has a wonderful week!
And I have to add - and I'm sure that many of us think that same thing - that I'm thanking Nicola each and every day for making her special year special for all of us. I think that each and every of us have been so inspired by her idea to celebrate her special year with Scarlett Letter samplers and it's given us so much inspiration. Where else could we see these wonderful samplers in their different states of progress? The close up pictures alone are enough to inspire us to pick up samplers that we never dreamed of doing. I never realized how beautiful these samplers really were! Thank you Nicola!
