Joanna Warren

Nicola- So sorry it took me awhile to take these photos of my Joanna Warren.  It isn't as precise as I'd like either but having seen the original, Joanna herself was not as meticulous.  Anticipating future questions about the other specialty stitches in this sampler I have included some additional details.

Marsha. Joanna is absolutely wonderful! Do you pad your satin stitch? Your stitching is beautiful. The colors in this sampler are not the usual. But, I do love the golds and beautiful mossy greens. Keep up your beautiful stitching!

Thanks - it's wonderful to be able to see the details. I'd like to stitch this one, too, someday.

Wow! What a gorgeous job you've done stitching this sampler. I love all the varied stitches used and the texture they give to the piece. Excellent work.

Thank you Marsha, I wish now I hadn't ripped out my first two attempts. I think I was aiming too high.

Thank you Marsha, I am stitching this alongside Nicola, and we are agreed that it one where lots of support is needed! A big stitch for a relatively small sampler. I can't start the cream flowers yet as I am awaiting the post which hopefully contains it. I stitch the satins first and then do that backstitch outline, is that how you do it, or do you filler?

I have got to stop looking at everyone's beautiful work. It is costing me a fortune. Just ordered Joann Warren 1655 not to mention two other orders made earlier. lol

Never realized how samplers can be so similar and yet not so much. The bands photographed look very much like the Hannah Thornbush sampler but just different enough that I have got to have it. I love all the subtle changes that truly make each piece one of their own and the pineapple in the Warren Sampler is incredible.

I have a saying..."Yesterdays samplers are todays inspiration for tomorrows treasures".

Speaking of which, my daughter came by the other night and wanted me to give her some of my needlework. lol. I said not until I am gone and I am not going anywhere soon. I have too much stitching to do.
