SDW Week 15 and Jane Atkinson

Good morning from a wet and windy Cornwall, the day is only good for lighting the fire and settling down to stitch but I have little Archie coming so Nana will not be picking up her needle during the day.

I have been frustrated by not being able to start Manifesto. I have contacted Needle Needs chasing up the custom bars I ordered at the beginning of the year. I hope that I will have them next week :o((

I have a carpenter working on the cottage we are refurbishing in the grounds of Trewoon today and in my desperation I have asked him if he could "knock" some bars up for me to use in the meantime. I will report back on this.

SDW German Band Sampler

SDW is progressing well, I am still amazed how much can be acheived by regular stitching. This is fourteen sessions as I missed one Saturday.

Jane Atkinson
Jane has blown me away with her beauty and is definitely challenging for my second favourite sampler ever. Ann Medd will always be first.

I have ordered more (!!) charts again this week and am wondering whether I should just order all of them. LOL

I am going to pop next door to the cottage to see if my bars are ready for testing.

SDW and Jane are both looking great. I so agree with you about Jane. She's definitely one of my favorite stitches ever. Good luck -- I hope the carpenter can help you out with temporary bars.

Jane is looking fantastic. You are a lot further along with SDW than I am and I didn't miss a week :)

Enjoy your time with Archie!

That was good thinking, Nicola, asking your carpenter to fashion something for you until your new bars arrive. Hope that works out. I know it must be killing you not to be able to start the Manifesto! But in the meantime your SDW and Jane just continue to grow more lovely. Beautiful work!
Enjoy your day with little Archie!

Nicola,

SDW is looking really good - I have this one on my wish list amongst a million other charts I want. :)

Jane is gorgeous! WOW...so glad I have this one in my stash. LOL I am so happy for you that the borders lined up. If/when I start Dutch Beauty I plan on doing the border first. I'm feeling a little daredevilish... :P

Enjoy the day with Archie, and stay warm in Trewoon. I really hope your bars come soon. It's killing me that you can't start on Manifesto yet. :)

Hugs and Love,
Jennifr H

The flowers in Jane just jump off the fabric, it's a stunning design. I hope you get sorted with a frame that helps out meantime - you never know, it might be better.

Both of them look fabulous! I'm starting mine Jane on your birthday and in the meantime I'm trying to finish the pincushion.

You want to buy all the charts? Sounds like a great idea! (That's what I call investment in retirement).

Both of the samplers look beautiful, I have not gotten my Manifesto chart yet and I am anxious to get it in the mail and get started on it as well. Thank you again for this wonderful challenge, it is so much fun looking at everyone's pictures and getting ideas for them. It is making me want all the samplers, sounds like it is having the same effect on you!!!

Nicola, I just love your progress on both these pieces. Seeing your SDW was just the incentive I needed to get mine ordered. That was done tonight.

I also ordered some bars at the beginning of the year from Needle Needs, and I am still waiting for them to arrive. The set which my husband ordered for me in November never arrived, and they lost the order completely so had to reorder the first week of January. I could do with another set now for another sampler I am starting, but I am not sure I can cope with the wait!

Just after writing my last comment, my bars arrived!

I can't hold back, I will have to order Jane sooner, rather than later.
