The Manifesto - a mini SAL

Manifesto - Scarlet Letter

Since Marsha posted a photo of her latest design "The Manifesto"  there has been a great deal of excitement.  This gorgeous pictorial sampler is stitched entirely over two (HURRAY) and on 40ct linen measures 19" x 30".

I will be stitching this on 36ct as soon as it becomes available sometime in February. I plan to work on TM one day per week as a mini SAL. Margaret, Laurie, Melinda, Deb, Michele, Sandra and Karen have already joined in.

The SAL is quite informal, no hard and fast rules, try to stitch once a week with me but you can do more or less, but please share your progress after each stitching session so that we keep each other motivated and there is lots of encouragement to keep on stitching.

She is a big one, if I've got my maths right (I could be wrong!!!) there are 228,000 full cross stitches.

Marsha posted a peak of the chart earlier in the week with her cat sat on it. If you enlarge the photo you can see quite a bit of the detail.

If you are interested in joining in please comment on the post.

This is beautiful. I won't join in the SAL but will enjoy watching how you all progress week by week.

I agree. This is one gorgeous piece. I will not be joining as well but will certainly enjoy seeing everyone's progress (and, then, being tempted after all!).

Oh my goodness...I can't stop looking at this one! We're in process of redecorating our sitting room and I'm pretty sure this would be just perfect for that room! I don't think I will join the SAL right now...too many other projects I must focus on. But I will be with you girls in spirit and am already looking forward to your progress. Once you all start posting, how long will it be before I'm joining in too?...I'm guessing not long!

I am so very tempted to join...I will need to think about it! Put me down as a "maybe"...I will be back with you on it!

Do you know any particulars about the threads?

I would do 36 count, as well.

I was just thinking, since the full area will be covered with stitches...I could use silk gauze and do tent stitch! Over one on 40count silk gauze.

That would make it roughly 9.5 inches by 15 inches.

Cool!

I'm with Holly on this one! 40 ct silk gauze would be the thing. I really shouldn't do this since I am supposed to be finishing not starting projects this year but what the heck, count me in!! Laura

Absolutely gorgeous! I won't be joining the SAL at this time, I'd like to finish some of my other projects but it will definitely be on my wish list to start in the future.

I am going to order the chart.

Sadly, I cannot join the mini SAL at this time.

I need this like I need a hole in my head but I can't resist either. Count me in, I will just add it into the old rotation!

Like a complete nutter I have said I will join the SAL but not too would mean I would regret it later. This is such a beautiful sampler and in a style that I do not usually go for so I reckon that is justification enough One day a week? Yes I can manage that.

WOW that is a big project. Good luck to everyone. I have two large projects already planned for this year, so don't think I should add another.
