I think I mastered the dreaded satin stitch. In my haste to pull out my basting I almost ruined what I had stitched. Mine is stitched on Sassy's Fabbys 36 ct Creamy Cocoa.
Jo your Dona Dorothea is lovely. This sampler has always been one of my favorites.
It's interesting to read which stitches we love/dread. I always enjoy the satin stitches. Stem stitches...not so much and stem is on the agenda for today's stitching. Wish me luck.
Looking forward to seeing more of your Dorothea. Enjoy!

Dona is coming along beautifully!
The deer with the flower appears on many Mexican samplers. This checkered one is my favorite.
I, too, love this sampler. I need to order it! Great progress.

The more I see this sampler, the more I love it. Looks like you're not too far away from a finish too.
