Can you help ?

Jane Atkinson Day 8

I am having so much fun stitching Jane, I look forward to settling with her each day. I am still waiting on one thread and typically it seems to be needed in every flower bar two so far.

SDW

The SDW  SAL is now is week 12 and this is where I am after 11 sessions, I missed one due to family commitments.

My church is nearly complete, next week I will paint the walls, hang the doors and glaze the remaining windows.

SDW

I doubled back and finished off the top two blooms on this large motif. It is so pretty.

I am looking for some suggestions. Do you know of any poems or bible extracts about a grandmother's love, love for a child or love of a family. I am starting to plan this little chap's heirloom sampler.

Wow, Nicola, you certainly have been bsuy. I don't think you ever sleep.

I just googles "Grandmother's love quotes" and found
A garden of Love grows in a Grandmother's heart.
Author Unknown

and

Grandparents and grandchildren,
Together they create a chain of love
Linking the past,
With the future.
The chain may lengthen,
But it will never part.

Also on pinterest are some http://pinterest.com/sandyfsw/grandma-quotes/

Hope this helps.

Nicola, your stitching is gorgeous and so is the grandson. Here are a couple grandmother verses I like

Grandmother's are voices of the past
Role models of the present
They open doors to the future

or

A garden of Love grows in a Grandmother's heart

or

Grandmother's have ears that truly listen, arms that always hold, love that's never ending and a heart that's made of gold.

and my favorite

I knew God loved me when I held my baby in my arms for the first time
but I did not know he adored me until I held my first grandchild.

Your progress on Jane is awesome, the flowers are so beautiful. SDW is so much fun, I am glad we are doing this SAL, it will be a treasure.

Archie is sooooo adorable!! I do not know of any poems but I remembered this really sweet pattern from a UK site I ordered from once.

There is also a cute A to Z sampler as well by the same Historical Sampler Company designer.

Nicola: do you ever sleep?!! You sew so quickly and your work is so beautiful, I am in awe!
I do not know a particular grandmother quote, but I often use:
"Every day a blessing - every meal a feast".
I love some of the quotes in previous comments and will make a note of them!
I am so loving this Challenge - it isgreat seeing what everyone is sewing and all these different samplers are coming along. I will be taking photos of my sampler is coming along - of course you would have finished it plus 2 more by now! xx

I just love SDW!!! It's coming along so nicely.

I don't know of any Grandmother sayings. I stitched my daughter's sampler. I chose Angela's Sampler by Cherished Stitches. I asked Louise to design one for me when she needed an idea for an October release. It's simple and Quaker. Right up my alley!

Nicola your Jane Atkinson is breathtaking already!!!! I love it and can't wait for more progress pics. Sorry I don't know of any grandmother quotes, but really like some that have been mentioned above. I'm sure you'll pick just the right words for your heirloom. And speaking of grand children little Archie is just so adorable. Thanks for sharing pictures of him.

Love that picture of Archie!! He is so cute. And, your samplers are stunning. I, too, am not familiar with "grandmother quotes" but the ones mentioned in earlier comments are lovely. I have a number of poetry books and will look through them a little later to see if I can find anything else.

There's a couple of nice ones there. The other sites I found were a little bit "greetings card verse".

He's such a lovely baby!

Nicola ...both Jane and SDW are spectacular. I love the colors on both. Did you change any of the colors? They look perfect on your linen.

What great joy you have in your life: beautiful needlework and a beautiful grandchild.

I love all your projects

I have only done one project for a baby - link HERE to Now I Lay Me.

It was for a girlfriends new son. Most of the Grandmother poems I know of are directed to the Grandmother, child-to-Grandmother.

Good Luck. I'm sure you'll find the perfect saying or poem.
