Ann Smith Update
Posted by
Deb
I managed to make what I think is good progress over the past week or so. The over one wording and the sky area were more time consuming than I thought that they would be. I was glad to get through them and on to some fun parts. I know that my fun will be short lived as when I finish the section I'm on, it's an entire area of over one. I thought I'd post a picture of where I was at my last update:
She is fun to stitch, even with the over one areas. The colors just have to make you smile.

It is so beautiful - the colours are so vibrant, it is coming along just nicely!
Those colors are so HAPPY! Even with the over one, I think the colors would keep me motivated;)
Happy Stitches,
-Holly in VA
Makes me feel like a trip to Key Largo!
The colours are scrumptious. This is a special sampler that will be worth all of the over 1 when finished.
Deb, your stitching looks perfect. And, the colors in this are just stunning!
Your progress is just beautiful!! Love the bright pretty colors in this!!
Looking good, Deb! You're making great progress! I love the colors!
It is just gorgeous! I love a deer :)
Absolutely gorgeous! You had quite a bit of progress, and I know first-hand how time-consuming all that over 1 can be.
Great stitching Deb! Love all the pop of color.
Deb, you're a stitching machine! ;o) LOVE the color. But that over-one has kept me from adding this one to the pile. I'm waiting for your post where you tell me the over-one was a piece of cake and not at all as horrid as you maybe imagined it would be! ;o)
Deb,
Ann is getting prettier and prettier (if that's possible) each time I see your progress.
I've put her on my birthday wish list (now here's hoping one of my family members asks me what I would really like.)
Deb, Ann is looking fabulous and you are making such great progress.. I love how the colors just jump off the fabric and like Ellen said.. she just keeps getting more beautiful.
Deb, your stitching is beautiful! What threads did you use? I love the colors.
Wow, Deb! Very pretty. I love this sampler.
Thanks everyone!! I think that her brightness makes me happy to work on her. Cindy, I'm using AVAS for Ann. I usually use DMC but I felt that Ann was a special piece and splurged for the AVAS. I have a funny feeling that I'll be using that thread more in the future. I love working with it.
That's so beautiful, Deb. And your stitching is lovely.
Gorgeous! You are making great progress, Deb!
Hugs,
Wonderful progress on Ann!!!!!
I love Soie D'Alger - it is my favorite solid colored silk and I think it makes a dramatic difference in the intensity of the colors as evidenced on your version of Ann - WOW Deb - it is soooo gorgeous however I agree with Kim - the over one is keeping me from jumping right onto Ann. Enjoy the stitch - Mel
Are you listening to Jimmy Buffet as you stitch?
Love this sampler.
AN image of the original was in a calendar many years ago. I have a copy framed. I still want to stitch this sampler.
She is so, so pretty.
This is just so beautiful!
Beautiful colors.
Beautiful stitching!!!
Great progress, the colours are really pretty.
Deb, you are really making great progress on this. The colors are gorgeous!
Oh Deb, I love this sampler! You are doing a wonderful job, and I think the silks were worth the splurge. It's breath taking!
Have a great one.
Deb,what a beautiful sampler! Your stitching is perfect as is your choice of using silk on your special Ann sampler.
